STUDENT MOBILITY

Check here the steps you must follow to achieve it:

In the following link poyou will find informationinformation about current agreements. Identify the type of mobility you want to do. The options are international, national and regional mobility.

For any of them you must select the university and the country where you would like to do the mobility. We recommend always having more than one option since there are limited places per university.

Your mobility program can be financed privately or by scholarships. To learn more about the scholarships available, you can check the following websiteink.

Request a meeting with movilidad@uct.cl : To validate the university of interest, and to know the requirements, documentation, application deadlines, etc.

In general you apply the semester before the semester you are going to go on exchange, you can check the dates on this same page in "Application Deadlines".

After the meeting with the International Relations Department, you must validate with your Career Director which subjects can be homologated. Look for the curriculum of your career at the chosen university, and pay attention to the start date of classes, we remind you that foreign universities have different start dates for the academic year and some have trimesters.

Check that you have all the necessary documentation to apply. You can request the requirements and application documents by sending an email to movilidad@uct.cl indicating the country and university of interest.

In general, the documents to be submitted are:

  • Regular student certificate
  • Photocopy of ID card
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Curricular advancement (download from the Student Portal)

Each university may request additional information. For example: Language level certificate, motivation letter, application form, among others.

With the corresponding documentation, the mobility unit will generate the application to the desired university.

In case the application is accepted, the head of the career must approve the study proposal. Once it is approved, you must send it to movilidad@uct.cl so that the mobility team can take your course of study.

Now that you are accepted, focus on preparing for your trip, for which you should have the following:

  1. Passport up to date
  2. Open a bank account that allows for international money orders
  3. Once you have received your acceptance letter, contact the welfare office to receive advice on how to maintain your benefits and not lose your regular student status.
  4. Follow the steps indicated by the host university to register for courses.
  5. Start the visa process if applicable, for this it is necessary to contact the consulate of the country of destination.
  6. Purchase a ticket and medical/travel insurance (some universities require a specific type of insurance). Remember to buy your one-way ticket with flexibility.
  7. Search for accommodation
  8. Pack your suitcase (remember to check what season of the year you will arrive).

If you have doubts to select the university to which to apply or if you are already accepted in a university and want to know how is the experience of other students who have gone before you, we invite you to send us an email to movilidad@uct.cl requesting contact information so that you can get to know what it means to live this international experience.
